Seattle Icons: Dick’s Drive In

Ran across this great photo of Dick’s Drive In. Like LA’s In-N-Out burgers, this is the best fast food in the city, a not to be missed hang-over cure late weekend nights.

The photo is definitely reminiscent of a 1950s drive in. What was the movie … American Graffiti? That’s the first thing I thought of when I saw this.

I’m not a big fan of their food, though … the fries have more oil than potatoes. Sometimes that’s just what you’re in the mood for, but most of the time, it’s a reason to go somewhere else.

Great photo. Brings back fond memories…A late night order of a Dick’s Deluxe, fries, chocolate shake and a tartar when I attended UW :)

My girlfriend works at Peet’s just down the street, on weekends the line in front of Dick’s can seem to last forever.

    Nice feel to this one!
BTW, this isn’t Wallingford or Capitol Hill, but the Ballard/Crown Hill/Holman Rd. location.

I’m forever nostalgic about Dick’s, makes me remember the carefree college years, oh the memories!
