Finding Happy Hours in Seattle

Unthirsty - Search for Seattle's Happy Hours

After seeing Seattle Busmonster and a dozen other cool Google mash-ups, I had the brilliant idea of creating a Seattle Happy Hour finder only to find out that it already existed. Unthirsty.com is a happy hour finder for anywhere (including Seattle of course) and as of this writing there are dozens of happy hours posted in the downtown area alone.

The web application displays listings with icons that tell you if the spot has food specials, drink specials, patio seating, and/or wifi and what the hours of the specials are. You can also search for the name of a bar instead of location and they even provide a url for mobile users.
Another good (if not visually titillating) reference is SevenNites.com “Seattle Happy Hour Search”, presumably named for the ability to search for places to get drink specials any day of the week, provides the ability to search by day, neighborhood, sexual preference and more.
List sources of information on Seattle’s Happy Hours:

My friends and I wanted to start a blog, I even procured a domain name, but there are a few already out there. I do think, however, there’s still room for a blog with witty and humorous reviews ala The Robotic Gourmand’s restaurant reviews that links to Unthirsty’s listing so the hours and details of happy hours can be kept up to date en-masse. Unthirsty does allow for comments but not full reviews with pictures and all.

If I’ve missed any great resources, please let me know! Also, what’s your favorite happy hour?

Well, I considered it…it shows up first in google when searching for seattle happy hours but that site is kind of spammy (lots of ads) and hard to look at and I didn’t think it offered anything that wasn’t covered in the other links.

Your url was a weird solicitation (asian guy looking for dates?!) so I removed it from your comment.

Ah, how fun would it be to travel around to all the happy hour locations in Seattle to review them? I’d expect a lot of typos in the posts though. I’m sure there’s at least one brave soul in Seattle willing to take up the challenge.

Oh, but I would feel for the poor reviewer’s liver.

As the owner of SevenNites.com I want to first thank you for referencing my site. I have worked very hard on it for the last 6 years to make it a viable Seattle resource. One quick note, there is an ambiguous link to http://sevennites.com/lat_long_addr.php on the front page that will take you to a page where you can find the nearest happy hours to a specific address. It is still in beta, thus I rely on people reading copy instead of clicking links. It’s sort of like a reward :) Let me know how to improve the site, it’s for the people, so speak up!!!

It’s been a while since you wrote this post, but I thought it would be worthwhile to tell you that we are about to launch Level2 of Unthirsty. And with that, the ability to write much longer reviews (each user can have their own blog in fact), upload photos, and a slew of updates. One of the things I find exciting is notifications when a bar is added in your pre-determined range (3 miles from zip code 97212, for example).

We also have an iPhone specific page, for those with iPhones.

You can check both the Beta for Level2 out at http://level2.unthirsty.com, and the iPhone version at http://www.unthirsty.com/iphone.

Here’s to finding that happy hour in the sky.

Seattle has some of the best drink spots for cheap. You also don’t have the northern hollywood attitude. I’ll be down to drink some more of them uncontrolled doubles they pour down there.
