Independence From Oil Day Parade- Well, being the bus girl that I am I’m excited to see any efforts that support mass transit and alternative modes. I think I’ll rollerskate. From their site independencefromoil.org:

On July 3rd all interested people are invited to converge on Volunteer park for a parade that celebrates renewable resources and innovative technologies that lessen our dependence on oil.

Bring your biodiesel, your electric car, your hyprid, your bike, your sk8tboard, or your flip-flops and get in the parade line-up at 11:30. We’ll begin our parade through the city at noon. After the parade there will be informational tables, music and more fun suprises. Bring a
picinic or a BBQ! Councilmember Richard Conlin and other speakers at 2
pm.

Proclaim your independence - and learn how you too can use less oil! To join the parade or to lend your support email info@independencefromoil.org. For updates, developments and information go to http://www.independencefromoil.org
